Mother Culture Reading Lists: Free Printables

Are you looking for ways to track your own reading? Or maybe start a list of books that you want to read this year? I am excited to share these Mother Culture Reading Lists FREE printables with you! I hope these pages will add a little beauty to your own Morning Time or whenever you’re able to squeeze in a few pages of reading! Happy reading, friends!

Having a plan is key to accomplishing your personal reading goals. Think of it the way you would if you were planning your homeschool year. You can’t have a successful homeschool year without some kind of an idea of what you’ll be studying! So you plan ahead. This doesn’t mean that those plans are executed to perfection. But having the plan sets you in motion so you know where you are headed! So it is with your reading life.

If I can remind you of one thing here, it is that you are educating yourself alongside your children. You need a feast set before you as much as your children do! Investing time in your reading life will feed and nourish your heart and mind. Don’t neglect it! I hope that these plans and challenges will help further you along as you pursue truth, beauty, and goodness alongside your children.

  • Mother’s Reading Plan: You can use the Mother’s Reading Plan to map out the books you’d like to read over the course of a year. This is great to use if you are looking for inspiration to read a variety of titles throughout the year!
  • Mother’s Reading Log: keep track of all your reads. Noting the genres can make you realize you need to add more nonfiction to all those mysteries!
  • Mother’s Morning Time: because moms need to partake of the feast set before them too!

Reading Challenges

If you’re looking for a bigger load of reading, try a reading challenge! Reading challenges are some of my favorite ways to broaden my scope of genres and, honestly, I just love a good challenge.

  • 30 Before 30 Challenge: Turning 30 soon? Think you could fit in 30 good books before then? List all the titles you want to have read by then and give it a try!
  • 40 Before 40 Challenge: This is what I’m currently working on! What are 40 titles you’d like to read before turning 40?

I hope these plans and challenges bless you on your reading journey! What kinds of free printables Mother Culture reading lists and challenges would you like to see added? Let me know!

Welcome

The Bookwise Mom is a place for moms to find the best books for their homeschool and be inspired as she cultivates her heart and mind through her own reading life. I hope you’ll find encouragement here as you dig deeper into the world of books and pursue your own education through great reading alongside your children.

My husband, Michael, and I are 2nd-generation homeschoolers and have 6 children (all boys!) ranging from 7th grade down to toddlers.

Looking back at my own experience as a homeschooler, I found that it wasn’t through expensive curriculum that I learned the most. My real education came from reading really great books. And I’ve found this to be true for my kids as well!

I know how tempting all of the beautiful curriculum is. Don’t get me wrong, I still love using formal lesson plans for our homeschool! But what I always come back to is that a really solid education comes when your child truly cares about what he is learning. And most of the time, this happens when they are given a feast of wonderful living books and great classic literature.

It also happens when we, as moms, are actively invested in our own reading lives! Nothing, in my opinion, is more contagious than sharing a love of books and reading alongside our children.

I hope that your visit here will encourage and motivate you as you seek out new reading for yourself as well as for your children!
